Panama - Earthquake

The designated operator of Panama, Correos Panamá, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated postal operators that, following the earthquake that occurred on 9 October 2026, a state of emergency was declared throughout the country on 10 October 2026.   Nevertheless, the postal network remains partially operational. The post offices affected by the earthquake are located in the interior of the country, in the provinces of Los Santos, Coclé, Veraguas, Herrera and Chiriquí.   Correos Panamá is assessing the situation and taking the necessary steps to restore the full operation of its postal network.   Correos Panamá thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding and will provide further updates via EmIS as the situation evolves.
